Comment: Moderate scramble for this traverse
This might be the ABC of the RMB Peakbaggers. Many of us newbees joined the group for this very awesome and exciting trip. I am very honoured to have met a few of the titans of the RMB Peakbaggers.
Here's the itinerary and attendace:
A. Mt. Alderson ......... Eric Magno - Vern Dewit - Kelly Smith - Frank Nelson - Bob Parr
B. Buchanan Peak .... Eric Magno - Vern Dewit - Kelly Smith - James Yearous - Sonny Bou
Buchanan Ridge ... Eric Magno - Vern Dewit - Kelly Smith - James Yearous
C. Mt. Carthew ......... Eric Magno - Vern Dewit - Kelly Smith - James Yearous

When I learned that my group's scramble was not gonna happen, I immediately focused on details on the webboard for the RMB's scramble.
I arrived early morning in Waterton hoping that the plan was still to meet at Cameron Lake. I was very excited but also very nervous, because nobody knew that I was coming. I thought maybe they stopped sending messages on the webboard and continued their communication via email. I was afraid I might have missed a change of plan. Soon, I was greeted by Linda Breton and her welcoming laughter. Whew, the plan was still on.
Few other cars started arriving, carrying some more of the RMB Peakbaggers. This is a group of scramblers with vast experience and a hardcore attitude. They were nice enough to include me on this trip in spite of my unexpected arrival.
Our overall car to car time was 11:45hrs.

Visit the reports and photos of Vern Dewit, Sonny Bou, and Kelly Smith from the same trip.
(1) Here's Vern and Kelly descending the summit ridge of Mt. Alderson.

(2) This is our route down from Mt. Alderson. It would've been an easy way down if there wasn't any hard snow, also responsible for Kelly's runaway pole.
The ascent route to Buchanan Peak via the Falls was suggested to us by Bob Spirko.

(1) A beautiful but not-so-good-news end-of-season colours of Waterton on our way to the Falls. Our route up follows the ridge just above the treeline.
(2) We met up with Sonny and James at the lakes. We then hike down to the Falls to gain our ascent ridge to Buchanan. It was a huge amount of elevation loss from Alderson, but it was the only way of doing it to complete our trip.
Here's a close-up look at the start of the ridge.
(1) Buchanan Peak (right) and Buchanan Ridge (higher... why?).

(2) 2:15hrs from Mt. Alderson.
(l-r) Sonny, Eric, Vern, Kelly, James.
There was no register... only Vern's Sonny-in-the-canister.

(1) Since we're gonna be passing Buchanan Ridge on our way to Mt. Carthew, we decided to summit it as well.
(2) 1:00hr from Buchanan Peak.
A lot of scramblers have already mistaken Buchanan Ridge as the Buchanan Peak. Sonny is one of them. He's already done it so he made his way back to the town. This will be considered as our third of four summits of the day.
