Our first attempt to complete this hike was unsuccesful due
to a sudden change of weather.
When we reached the false summit, lightning started striking
and it also started raining. We had to finish up our lunch
fast and head back to the tree line for cover.
We came back a couple of months later hoping for a better day.
It was chilly and snowy but at least no lightning.
The trail to the Lookout was packed with snow but nothing
too difficult to make us turn back for the second time.
Even
from the first summit, the Fire Lookout is already visible and
very inviting.
The mother of all Fire Lookouts. There was nobody else on
the mountain. We signed the register, ate lunch and went home.
