| June 15, 2004.
The objective here is to gain the left ridge... i wish
you good luck finding it. We've lost a lot of time hiking
at the foot of this mountain looking for it. This scramble
was unsuccessful due to ignorance, exhaustion and bad
timing. We only got to the bottom of the Tit. To add more
ignoramus stupidus to this trip, we thought we could descend
staight through the gully. We ended up facing a 20' drop. |
|

May 6, 2005. From the same trailhead, we bushwacked directly
towards the ridge. The forest is very dense here so we didn't
want the same experience as before.
(2) When we reached the ridge, another couple of scramblers
emerged from the farther west side. We all went through a wet,
snowy condition on slippery rocks and a bunch of downclimbs.
Here's a fella from New York carefully descending the Tit's
west face. |
 (1)
The final push to the summit was not in a very good condition
yet but it was do-able. We were on the Tities after 4:30hrs.
(2) We returned the same way for 2hrs. We noticed the other
two going down the gully but it was too late for us to warn
them about the drop... we just hope they got around it ok. We
did a good 20-minute scree skiing below the ridge which saved
us a lot of time... although Kristian says this is the faster
way down. |
