 Mt. Cheolmasan - 227m/745'

April 14, 2006. For this traverse I took Incheon Subway Line 1 to Gyesan station, and exited at #4. I walked straight (west) for about 20mins up to the Gyeyang-gu/Seo-gu border... in between Mt. Cheolmasan and Mt. Gyeyangsan.
The hike up was steep right away, but then levels out at the first bump.
(1) Here's the first summit and (2) the trail to the true summit.
I heard that Koreans hike the mountains and yell out their stress at the top. This is the point where I first saw them doing it.
It took me 45 minutes to get to the true summit (first photo). This is not the true summit printed on the Incheon Tourist map, but it seems higher.
On the second photo, the last high point was the claimed summit. The traverse route I took is visible here. I just followed the ridge the whole way.
I wasn't expecting this place to be busy for a friday hike but it was. I was never alone on the trail and on the summits.
So what do you think this sofa is doing in here, and the weird looking "twister" exercise equipment beside it. AND, the mirrormirror on the tree, for the fairest of 'em all to see, click me.
Here are the final approach to the claimed summit and the residents of it. This summit is very close to the southern approach with a lot of apartment buildings.
On my descent, I continued to the south and to the left of the only fork (signed). This took me to the apartment buildings, and from there, I chose not to walk the half-hour distance to the subway station and just hit the cab. My over all north trailhead to south trailhead time is 2hrs.
