Cebu Island Trip Report |
May 22-24, 2007. Cebu Pacific flies from Manila to Cebu for 1hr:10mins. Fares sometimes drop from P1 + tax and fees to P4000+. Manila Domestic Airport charges P200 terminal fee.
At Cebu Airport, there are a lot of cabs
and "jeepneys" to take to get into the town. Airport jeepneys are frequent and stops at MEPZ 1 (Mactan Economic Processing Zone 1) aka the Marina Mall, P7/p. From MEPZ 1, jeepneys to different routes flood the area.
This is where we started our trip around the city. We first went to the Mactan Shrine, then we checked in at Cebu Century Hotel in downton Cebu. This downtown area of the city is loud and messy. I recommend going to uptown instead for a cleaner, quieter, and perhaps safer stay.
The next day, we walked around the area to visit Fort San Pedro, Magellan's Cross, and Basilica Minore Del Sto Nino.
These sites are all walking distance from each other and close to a bunch of restaurants and guesthouses.
We left Cebu on Weesam Express to Bohol Island . |
